Platform Terms

Effective date: 22 April 2026

These terms govern access to and use of Mpola by borrowers and lenders. By creating or using an account, you agree to these terms and all related platform policies.

1. Eligibility and Account Integrity

  • You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into financial agreements in Uganda.
  • Information submitted to Mpola must be accurate, complete, and kept up to date.
  • You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and all actions taken under your account.

2. Acceptable Platform Use

  • Do not misuse, disrupt, or attempt unauthorized access to Mpola systems.
  • Fraudulent, abusive, discriminatory, or misleading behavior is prohibited.
  • Mpola may suspend, restrict, or terminate access where misconduct or legal risk is identified.

3. Lending and Borrowing Terms

  • Loan offers are provided by participating lenders and may differ by risk profile, documentation, and repayment history.
  • Borrowers are responsible for reviewing terms before acceptance, including repayment schedule, fees, and penalties.
  • Lenders are responsible for transparent disclosure of rates, fees, and any conditions attached to offers.

4. Compliance and Enforcement

  • Mpola may perform identity, compliance, and fraud checks to protect users and fulfill legal obligations.
  • Non-compliance with platform policies, regulatory requirements, or lawful instructions may result in account action.
  • Where required, Mpola may report suspicious activity to relevant regulators or authorities.
